2019 Fumé Blanc Reserve "To Kalon"

I like the flintiness here, with dried lime peel, cedar and mango stone opening up to pineapple and green apple. Sleek and sophisticated, with a medium body and vibrant layers. Keeps going. Sauvignon blanc with a touch of semillon. Drink or hold. (2022)

Looking at the two Sauvignon Blancs, the 2019 Fume Blanc Reserve To Kalon Vineyard was fermented and aged in 11% concrete and 40% new barrels. It’s a medium-bodied, pure, vibrant effort offering notes of white grapefruits, crushed flowers, and some chalky, mineral-like nuances. (2022)
