2019 Le Petit Cheval Blanc: 91 Punkte
The 2019 Petit Cheval has a very attractive cedar and tobacco infused bouquet that seems precise and supremely well focused. The oak is neatly assimilated. The palate is medium-bodied with a bolder presence than intimated by the aromatics, sweet and layered black fruit, quite plush, satin texture with a persistent and seductive, modern style finish. 2021 Volnay Santenots du Milieu 1er Cru: 93-95 Punkte
The 2021 Volnay Les Santenots-du-Milieu 1er Cru comes from all the Domaine's vines, including the youngest ones. Wonderful aromatics on the nose: wild strawberry, cranberry, rose petals and crushed stone. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins, lovely balance and purity and very harmonious with a slightly grainy texture. Slips down the throat with ease. 2019 Le Petit Cheval Blanc
A wine that I don't get to taste often, the 2019 Château Cheval Blanc Le Petit Cheval Blanc is a stunning white that's certainly worth seeking out, and it actually reminds me of the great white from Château Margaux. Vibrant citrus, white flowers, lime, and chalky mineral notes all emerge on the nose, and it's medium-bodied, has terrific purity, bright acidity, and the balance to evolve for over a decade. 2012 Chateau d'Avize Blanc de Blancs: 94 Punkte
The 2012 Chateau d'Avize Blanc de Blancs, 100% Chardonnay with dosage of 2 g/l, was disgorged in June 2022. It swans out of the glass with showy notions of honeysuckle, almond croissant, apple tart, and beeswax, plus suggestions of sea spray and shaved ginger. The palate is delicately styled and bone dry, with fantastic tension and densely intertwined chalk and spice layers, finishing wonderfully minerally. (2022)

The 2019 Le Petit Cheval Blanc is a blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon. Subdued notes of fresh lime juice, green apples, and orange blossom lead to hints of wet slate and dill seed with a waft of elderflower. Light to medium-bodied, the palate has impressive tension, with mineral and saline layers and a citrusy lift on the finish. (05/2023)

Exhibiting aromas of raspberries, vine smoke, warm spices, wintergreen and orange zest, the 2021 Volnay 1er Cru Les Santenots-du-Milieu is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with an enveloping core of cool, vibrant fruit and a rich, sensual profile. Transcending stereotypes of the vintage, it's a beautiful bottling in the making.
