From the original Syrah vines of the estate, the 2016 Syrah Originals is similarly inky purple-colored and boasts killer notes of crème de cassis, black raspberries, crushed violets, peppery spice, and hints of vanilla. Seamless, medium to full-bodied, and elegant, it's another brilliant Syrah from this estate to drink over the coming decade or more. (2018)

The 2016 Syrah Originals Estate is still very primary despite its eminent bottling, dominated on the nose by a lavish display of dark, plummy fruit. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and nicely concentrated with fine, ripe structuring tannins. While I find it hard to read, it's very promising.
