"...Wow. Das war eine Überraschung bei der Verkostung Mitte Mai. Ca. 60 Muster standen auf dem Tisch. Vom Bordeaux Superieur bis hin zu Smith Haut Lafitte. Aber dieser kleine Bordeaux räumte ab. Philippe Nunes ist Direktor auf La Fleur de Boüard vom Hubert (Chateau Angelus) und macht nebenbei auch ein eigenes Ding. Von Lawrence werden auf rund 6 ha 9000 Flaschen erzeugt. 100 % Merlot. Für weltweite Nachfrage. Kämpfen derzeit noch darum, was wir bekommen. Sicher waren Thomas, matthias und ich die ersten, die sich um den 2019er bemühtne. Vielleicht bekommen wir nen schönen Batzen ab. Vielleicht auch nicht. Aber ein paar Kisten werden es schon sein. Schöne, frische, reife Frucht, großartige Nase, am Gaumen sehr eleganz mit sehr guter Balance, sehr frische Frucht, saftig, toll, schwarzbeerig am Gaumen, sehr sehr schön. Kaufen!!! Sichern!!." The 2019 Grand Village is rich and exuberant right out of the gate. Succulent dark cherry, plum, leather, licorice, spice and chocolate are pushed forward. This racy, succulent red from the Guinadeau family offers tons of near and medium-term appeal. Best of all, it should be a steal.

Blackberries and blueberries with chocolate and walnut undertones. Medium body and firm, creamy tannins with beautiful finish and depth. Some crushed stone at the end. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet sauvignon. Give it three or four years of bottle age but pretty already to drink. (2022)

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it features preserved plums and blueberry compote notes with hints of wild sage, fragrant earth, and unsmoked cigars. A terrific performance for this estate, the 2019 Grand Village reveals a delicate, perfumed, complex bouquet with inviting aromas of dark wild berries, iris, violet, menthol and lead pencil. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, enveloping and supple, fleshy and crystalline, with a delicate, layered core of fruit framed by supple, polished tannins, concluding with a saline, lead pencil-inflected finish. It will offer a broad drinking window.
