2022 Orma

The 2022 Orma is a fine effort. Aromatic and pliant, the 2022 offers up scents of red/purplish fruit intermingled with blood orange, spice, new leather and cedar. The new style at Orma, one that favors bold fruit over the strong oak imprint of the past, is still developing. This is a terrific showing in a very challenging year. The blend is 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc. - Antonio Galloni (02/2025)

The cabernet sauvignon character comes through nicely in this red, particularly on the palate, with currants, both red and black, as well as dried flowers and cedar. Some lead pencil as well. Medium body, with polish, finesse and beauty. Lovely length and grace. This is a move towards better balance and energy for Orma. One to watch. A blend of mostly merlot with cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. Best after 2026, but already a very attractive young wine. (08/2024)
