„…blaubeerig, frisch, gewisse Wärme, kräftige Säure, etwas satt machend, gewisse nussige Noten, feine Bitterschoko, kräftige Tannine, mittlere Mittel“ (04/2025)

"The second vintage (the first not commercialised) made from dedicated high plots on the western side of gravel over sand. Richly concentrated blackcurrant aromas on the nose, smells dark and deep. Soft, creamy, vanilla, milk chocolate and some dried herbal notes. Soft and smooth, silky but thicker silk, satin like tannins fill the mouth with amazingly vibrant fruit - zingy and so lively but focussed and crisp with fine tannins that support the fruit. Crunchy. Tension is there, quite taut but it balances with the rich texture so you get both - freshness, crunch and flavour and power. Juicy and generous - makes you smile while still being focused and laser sharp. Really good, packed full of flavour and interest. Still wired, there’s a tang all the way through, not gentle, this is electric with texture. Rich, sweet, a touch voluptuous. A touch of evocatism in the fruit. Ageing 45% new oak for 18 months. 12.5% press. 3.55pH" - Georgina Hindle (04/2025)

"Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Floral, ein Hauch von Lakritze, Nuancen von Cassis, zarte Würze, einladend, mineralischer Touch. Straff, engmaschig, rotbeerig, angenehme Frische, elegant und anhaftend, ein finessenreicher Speisenbegleiter, feine Herzkirschfrucht im Abgang." - Peter Moser (04/2025)

"The first vintage of this to be presented en primeur even although it will not be released en primeur. Gracious. Glossy, creamy and extremely open and elegant. Beautiful aromatically and incredibly poised, this is a wine that prompts a very physical but at the same time emotional reaction in me – goosepimples and, if I’m honest, a tear in the corner of my eye (reinforced I think by this being the first time I’ve tasted this). Damsons and mulberries. Peony and wisteria. Aand all with a wondrously eloquent purity. So supple and gracious on the palate, not too ample and with an incredible natural swirling brilliance in the mouth, with more of more menthol notes released as the ripples and eddies of freshness seem almost to build into a vortex. Gloriously tactile and very exciting. I’m in raptures (as you can probably tell)!" - Colin Hay (04/2025)

The 2024 Terrasse III is a new wine from parcels on the western side of the property that often go into the Grand Vin. Dark, supple and engaging, the 2024 offers plenty of Montrose gravitas, but without the tannic heft of the Grand Vin, at least in this vintage. Blackberry, incense, licorice and gravel fill out the layers effortlessly. Soils here are a bit deeper than they are in the heart of the property. This is a seriously gorgeous wine, one that I look forward to tasting from bottle and in subsequent, more favorable vintages. Aging is projected to be 18 months, with 45% new oak.

A fine and polished Terrasse 3. This is the second year made. Medium-bodied with elegance and finesse. Attractive finish for the vintage. Pretty and precise. 61% cabernet sauvignon, 27% merlot, and 12% cabernet franc. (04/2025)

Coming entirely from Terrace 3, which lies slightly further from the estuary, the 2024 Château Montrose Terrasse III is 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, aging in 45% new oak. It's a solid, more richly styled Cabernet with classic notes of ripe black fruits, graphite, loamy earth, and tobacco, all supported by nicely integrated oak. Playing in the medium-bodied style of the vintage, it offers good mid-palate depth, solid acidity, and ripe, polished tannins. The 2024 comes in at 13% alcohol with a pH of 3.5. (05/2025)

Deep garnet-purple colored. Black cherries, boysenberries, and fresh cranberry notes pop from the glass, followed by hints of dried Provence herbs and pencil shavings. The light to medium-bodied palate is vibrant and refreshing with red berry and mineral layers supported by fine-grained tannins and great tension, finishing on a lingering ferrous note. (05/2025)
