Good concentration and juiciness, with a touch of delicate residual sweetness, a lovely silky texture and elegant, finely balanced acidity. "(100% Riesling; 7.5% alcohol). The appearance of this wine is as deceptive as its aromatics and its palate – in that, poured in into the glass from an unlabelled decanter (a pretty good way to serve this) you’d imagine it to be from 2023 or 2024 vintage perhaps. Pale limpid yellow with green highlight. Incredibly youthful in every respect at 34 years of age. Indeed, so youthful is this that one almost suspects some form of lime-lapse alchemy! A wine of staggering shimmering purity and freshness. An elixir of youth. Verbena, fresh and confit ginger, perhaps a hint of lanolin, lime juice, white grapefruit zest that seems to gather around the edges of the quite slender frame like tannins in a grippy, structured, chalky red. Oyster shell too and the salinity that suggests. A wine of great precision and clarity." - Colin Hay (09/2026)
