2008 Champagne Cuvée Joyau

Quince and dried pear with baking spices, such as cinnamon. Full-bodied and very tight with intense phenolics that are very, very fine and long. Lasts for minutes. Lightly chewy finish. Needs time to come together completely. 60% pinot noir and 40% chardonnay. Disgorged in 2023. 3g dosage. First wine from here, sold on the place in Bordeaux. Drink or hold. (06/2023)

The 2008 Joyau de France Extra Brut is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, disgorged in December 2021. It soars from the nose with notes of brioche, honey-drizzled pears, and white peaches, leading to suggestions of marzipan and orange blossom. The palate is intense, with toasty, nutty nuances accenting the vibrant pears and peaches flavors, supported by a lively backbone and very fine bubbles, finishing long and savory. (08/2022)
