Bright ruby-red. Expressive nose offers blueberry, blackberry, espresso, bitter chocolate and a whiff of meat, plus a minty nuance that emerges with air. Supple, dry and rich, with ripe, firm flavors of dark berries, licorice and menthol. Finishes with plenty of ripe tannins and good length and lift. A very good Bolaire for enjoying over the next seven or eight years.

James Suckling

Wonderful quality for this appellation. Fascinating nose of peaches, berries and spices follow through to a full body, with dark chocolate, nutmeg, blueberries, and raspberries. Long and flavorful. Better after 2017. (2012)

Wine Spectator

This delivers blueberry, fig and blackberry fruit melded with ample toasty vanilla and mocha notes, which fill out the finish. Rather obvious in the end, but will certainly have some fans. Drink now. 2,830 cases made.

Parker – Wine Advocate

A sleeper of the vintage for sure, this dense, ripe, dark ruby/purple-colored wine, made from a whopping 39% Petit Verdot, 34% Merlot and 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, exhibits some tobacco leaf, black currants, licorice, roasted coffee and forest floor. It is ripe, medium to full-bodied in texture, pure, impressively endowed, and should drink deliciously for at least another 2-4 years, possibly longer.
