Beautiful, layered wine showing great depth on the nose. Ripe strawberries, cacao, roasted coffee beans, iodine and salt undertones. Full-bodied and round-textured red with soft tannins following through to a mouth-watering and juicy finish. Blend of syrah, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot. Drink now. (12/2016)

The top of the range is the 2010 Estela de Arrayán, which is a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot that matured in brand new French barriques for 17 months. The nose is quite muted, and at least the oak does not seem to dominate. There is a shy mixture of ripe berries and spices with a lactic touch. Again the varietal that comes through stronger on the nose is the Syrah, with some smoky bacon and tapenade aromas. The palate is full-bodied and the oak feels nicely integrated. A powerful, ripe, generously oaked but balanced international blend. 2,295 bottles.
