The 2015 Touriga Nacional was aged for 18 months in French oak of varying ages (only 25% new). It comes in at just 13.6% alcohol. This has been seen before but only as a tank sample. This has come along well, showing both structure and concentration to go with its finesse in the mid-palate. Then, there is also the pure power. Still unevolved, it clearly needs time. It has beautiful fruit, though, even with the sharp elbows it currently has. It may be approachable in a few years, but even more time would help. When I first saw it, I wasn't entirely convinced, and it was only a tank sample. It's pretty clear now, though, that this will age well, perhaps better than anticipated. Let's start here and take that in stages.
