2016 Champagne Grand Vintage | MG

Lovely salinity to this Champagne, which has notes of Asian pears, aniseed, preserved lemons, chalk and biscuits. It’s mineral and seamless, with transparency and brightness. Fine bubbles. 48% chardonnay, 34% pinot noir and 18% meunier. 5g/L dosage. Disgorged March 2023. Drink now or hold.

This is toasty, with hints of brioche, pastry cream, roasted vanilla and smoke creating a rich and aromatic thread lacing flavors of crème de cassis, tangerine peel and spun honey. Well-cut and finely balanced, with the creamy mousse carrying the profile on the lingering finish. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Disgorged February 2024. Drink now through 2040.
