The 2016 Clos Marsalette Blanc is a very pretty, open-knit wine with quite a bit of near to medium-term appeal. White flowers, ripe orchard fruit and light tropical overtones all grace this very pretty, inviting white.

This white shows dried apples and pears with some stones and dried lemon grass. Medium-to full-bodied, chalky and flavorful. Drink now. (02/2019)

The 2016 Clos Marsalette Blanc from this estate is terrific and well worth seeking out. Beautiful minerality, lime, and just a kiss of brioche all emerge from this Sauvignon-dominated effort that’s medium-bodied, balanced, and juicy. Drink it over the coming 4-6 years, although I wouldn’t be surprised to see it keep longer. (02/2019)

The Clos Marsalette 2016 Blanc is a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Sémillon picked 16-19 September and matured in 30% new oak. It has a light bouquet with grass clippings, Granny Smith apples and a touch of chalkiness. The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp acidity, veins of orange rind and mandarin accompanying the citrus fruit with a touch of salinity on the finish. I actually prefer this to the 2015 last year.
