Der Château Plince 2017 präsentiert sich in seiner Farbe frisch. In der Nase sehr würzig und dicht – Waldbeeren aber auch größere Anteile von Lakritze und Bitterschokolade. Nicht ganz so gefällig wie seine Vorgänger, dennoch schön und vielversprechend für die kommenden Jahre. Am Gaumen fleischig, etwas spicy, mit vollem Körper, kräftigen Tanninen und einer tollen Saftigkeit. Die Struktur, Balance bilden eine Stimmigkeit und der Abgang ist lang und andauernd. Insgesamt wieder ein sehr schöner Pomerol.

The 2017 Plince is a soft, forward easygoing wine to drink now and over the next few years. In this vintage, the Cabernet Franc aromatics are especially evident. Hints of spice, chocolate and licorice give this juicy Pomerol pretty shades of nuance.

The crushed-berry, smoke and stone aromas are appealing. Medium to full body, round and chewy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Shows depth and structure. Give it a year or two to soften and come together. Drink in 2022.

The 2017 Château Plince (79% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Franc) offers a saturated ruby/purple color as well as solid notes of red plums, cherries, exotic flowers, violets, and spice. Nicely textured on the palate, with medium-bodied richness and juicy acidity, it should round into form nicely once bottled and keep for 8-10 years. This estate covers 21 acres of darker, iron rich soils.
