90-92 POINTS
The 2018 Domaine de l’Eglise has quite a dense bouquet: black cherries, boysenberry jam and blue fruit, some new oak to be subsumed. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, fine acidity, quite cohesive with a focused, floral finish that lingers. This is a very worthy follow-up to the 2017, a Pomerol that is on the up.

Pretty aromas of lavender, fresh blueberry, plum, pine cone and mocha. It’s full-bodied with firm, creamy tannins. Fresh and rich at the same time with seamless layers. Chewy at the end. Try from 2024. (2021)

This has cashmere-textured crushed plum and black currant preserve notes laced with a mouthwatering anise note and backed by a spark of savory through the graphite-edged finish. Nicely done. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2034. 3,000 cases made.
