Tasted just prior to bottling, the 2018 Dolcetto Rivoli is a rich, dense wine. Black cherry, plum, spice, leather and tobacco all flesh out in the glass. Broad and ample, with superb density, the 2018 shows a distinctly powerful side of Dolcetto. The 2018 is the first vintage made from vineyards in Alba (approaching Diano) rather than Neive, as was the case in the past. The 2018 was done in steel, with about two months in neutral oak.
