Quite a spicy nose, but also plenty of red fruit and some nice herbal notes. This has a great tannin structure and has clearly been built to last. Still very tightly wound and in need of some bottle age. Better after 2021. (08/2020)

The 2018 Mayschosser Mönchberg Spätburgunder GG is intense and elegant on the nose, displaying ripe and concentrated dark fruit aromas intermixed with toasty notes. Generously juicy on the palate, this full-bodied and silky-textured wine shows good freshness and finesse as well as a firm structure with pronounced tannins on the tight and astringent finish. Tasted in Wiesbaden in August 2020.
