2019 Cabernet Sauvignon "Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper"

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Missouri Hopper is fabulous. Deep, rich and explosive, the 2019 offers a striking mix of red fruit, leather and savory/earthy overtones. The site, at the southern end of Oakville, yields potent, dense Cabernets just like this. The 2019 is impressive, to say the least.

Regular drivers on Highway 29 will have seen the sign for this vineyard next to Brix. Like the other Amici wines, the oak signature evident in the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard is distinctive, with notes of brown sugar and scorched coffee set against black cherries and cassis. Full-bodied, ripe and concentrated, this is a rich wine with a long future, despite the fact that it can be drunk now by tannin hounds.
