The 2019 Doisy-Védrines is heavily reduced on the nose. I wonder if this just needs a lot of aeration or bottle age? The palate is well-balanced with fine acidity, tensile and focused. Plenty of energy here with apricot and tangy marmalade on the botrytized finish. Give this Sauternes 8-10 years. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.

Pale lemon-straw in color, it needs coaxing to bring out notes of toasted almonds, nutmeg, and chamomile over a core of ripe apricots and honey-drizzled pears with a hint of lemon drops. The palate is racy and energetic, with mineral sparks providing interest, finishing long. (01/2023)

The palate is wonderfully well-poised, featuring racy freshness that seamlessly lifts the sweet and savory flavors in the mid-palate and gives a burst of mineral-tinged energy on the finish.
