The 2019 Cabernet Franc Stagecoach Vineyard is terrific. Inky, deep and voluptuous, with tremendous depth and nuance, the Stagecoach Franc is seriously impressive. I can't say it is terribly varietal, because it is not, and yet even so, the Franc here is undeniably compelling. Readers should expect an inky, jammy, super-concentrated wine built on textural richness more than anything else.

Impressive concentration and depth here. Lots of ripe blueberries and blackcurrants, mint, cedar and smoked sausage. Some hazelnuts, too. Full-bodied with an array of soft, polished tannins and deep, savory fruit. Ripe and succulent with a long, chewy finish. Give it plenty of time to soften. Try in 2025. (12/2021)

Similarly inky purple-hued, the 2019 Cabernet Franc Stagecoach Vineyard has a beautiful perfume of blue fruits, lavender, violets, and spring flowers. I love its purity of fruit, it’s full-bodied, has silky tannins, and a great finish. It’s another fruit-loaded, balanced 2019 from this label that will keep for 10-15 years. (05/2022)

The single-varietal 2019 Stagecoach Cabernet Franc is deep garnet-purple in color. It bursts with bold notions of blackberry pie, black cherry compote, and plum preserves plus wafts of tobacco leaf and oolong tea. The full-bodied palate has great tension and firm, chewy tannins supporting the savory-laced black and red fruit preserves flavors, finishing long and ferrous. (10/2023)

A nice dark, winey style, with a deep well of black currant and blackberry reduction flavors coated liberally in tobacco leaf and warm humus. The earthy note drives authoritatively through the finish, giving this a nice rumble of terroir. Reveals a late echo of violet for purity, too. Best from 2024 through 2035. 252 cases made.

95+ POINTS
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Cabernet Franc Stagecoach Vineyard slowly reveals notes of raspberry leaves, tilled soil and bouquet garni over a core of ripe plums, blueberries and Morello cherries, plus a suggestion of lavender. The full-bodied, tightly knit palate has a firm foundation of fine-grained tannins and bold freshness supporting the nuanced black fruits, finishing long and minerally.
