Sweet blueberries, crème de cassis, spring flowers, incense, iron, and baking spice are just some of the nuances in the 2019 Red Blend The Ultimate Debate, and it's full-bodied, dense, and massive on the palate, while somehow staying light on its feet and graceful, with no sensation of weight or heaviness. Possessing incredible extract, concentration, and layers of sweet fruit, as well as ripe tannins and a great finish, it's a decadent Napa Valley red blend that will evolve for 20 years or more. The 2019 The Ultimate is composed of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon and 38% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it comes bounding out with vibrant scents of black cherries, redcurrant preserves, and warm cassis followed by suggestions of violets, underbrush, and unsmoked cigars with a waft of dusty soil. The full-bodied palate is rich and decadent, with firm, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and earthy. (10/2023)
