Der Les Champs Libre taucht das Glas in einen hellen Goldton. In diesem Jahrgang ist der Les Champs Libres deutlich würzig und blumig, wobei die Frucht etwas in den Hintergrund tritt. Das Aromaprofil ist geprägt von Melone, Bienenwachs und weißen Blüten. Mit etwas Zeit im Glas entfalten sich Aromen von Minze, Salbei, weißem Pfeffer und Mandeln. Ähnlich wie der Grand Village Blanc wirkt der Les Champs Libres zunächst etwas zurückhaltend. Mit seinem mittleren Körper, seiner Konzentration und seiner schönen Ausgewogenheit ist er ein zauberhafter Weißwein!

The 2020 Les Champs Libres is gorgeous right out of the gate. In this vintage Les Champs Libres is quite savory and floral, with the fruit pushed into the background. Dried flowers, mint, sage, white pepper and almonds all open with some time in the glass. Like the Grand Village Blanc, Les Champs Libres comes across as a bit reticent. I love the energy and vibrancy here. Give this time in bottle.

Based on 100% Sauvignon Blanc, the 2020 Guinaudeau Vignerons Les Champs Libres Blanc is light gold and offers a much deeper, more layered, complex profile, with gorgeous melon, beeswax, white flowers, and crushed stone all emerging with time in the glass. Medium-bodied, concentrated, and beautifully balanced, it's a magical white that I wish every reader could taste. It will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and keep for well over a decade. (2023)
