I love the floral and perfumed nose of the 2021 La Fleur Vivaltus, the second wine. It was produced with 98% Tempranillo and 2% Merlot from the villages of La Aguilera, Fuentenebro, Moradillo de Roa, Anguix, Atauta and Curiel. The grapes were selected from younger vines than the ones for Vivaltus, but they're still around 40 to 50 years old. It's a blend of 94% Tempranillo and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon that fermented in stainless steel with neutral yeasts, and 90% of the wine matured in barrels, 15% of them new, and 10% was in amphorae for 10 months, a little shorter this year. It's open and expressive but subtle, elegant and very harmonious; all the components are in harmony and speaking in the same voice and tone. It has 14% alcohol, a pH of 3.75 and 5.05 grams of acidity, coming through as balanced and harmonious, juicy and tender. Though still young, it's evolving at a faster pace. 26,000 bottles, 1,000 magnums and some larger volumes produced. It was bottled in June 2023.
