Dark fruit, violet, lavender, grilled herbs and sage lend notable complexity as the 2021 shows off its alluring personality. This coastal, cool-climate Syrah is lights out, but it is also a bit firm at this stage and in need of cellaring.

The 2021 Syrah Rim Rock Vineyard opens with touches of saddle leather and flint that give way to blackcurrant, peppercorn, chargrilled meats, black olives and garrigue. The full-bodied palate has understated, iodine-laced flavors, finely chalky tannins and fresh acidity, and its latent finish suggests it has more to reveal in time. Give it 3-5+ years in bottle. 452 cases were made.
