Jane Anson: 95 Punkte
"Deep ruby red, this is powerful and concentrated, lovely dark spice. Fleshier, with softer tannins than the Pavots, spiced plum, sandalwood and cedar, bitter black chocolate, luscious feel. Kick of heat on the finish. 60% new oak for ageing, 100% destemmed, 610m altitude. Morgan Maureze head winemaker." (07/2025)

Decanter: 95 Punkte
"Highly scented and perfumed blue fruit on the nose, smells fresh and fragrant. Tobacco, dried herbs, blackcurrants, plums and black cherries. Super floral but also with some savoury earth tones as well as tobacco and cedar. Fleshy and almost chewy, mouth filling but delicately, the tannins have a soft grip. I like the cooling blue fruit and graphite aspect with liquorice, aniseed and clove. Wide and ample in the mouth but lifted and not heavy, elegant and polished. Complex flavour and really nice layering, there’s no shortage of flavour and there’s gorgeous tannins but the alcohol heat and spice poke through at the end and just create a bit of a narrowing of enjoyment. Aging 18 months, 60% new oak. Harvested over eight days from September 10-17." - Georgina Hindle (07/2025)

The Wine Palate: 97 Punkte
"The 2022 Au Paradis is deep garnet-purple in color. The blend is 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Merlot. After a swirl or two, notes of red currant jelly and cassis spill from the glass, accented with hints of pencil lead, dried mint, Indian spices, and iron ore with a touch of mossy tree bark. The full-bodied palate is packed with juicy black fruit layers, supported by firm, grainy tannins and refreshing acidity, finishing long and earthy. Impressive! 1,642 cases were made." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (07/2025)

"Again, slightly oxidative at first. More ferrous perhaps and saline in its minerality than Les Pavots but cut from the same cloth. I love the violet florality from the Cabernet Franc – I’m almost in Pomerol for a fleeting moment. It’s quite bulby too. Plush, plump, glassy and crystalline. There’s more substance here, more density and compactness. It’s less ample in frame and that accentuates the intensity. Cool at the core. Very minty and Cabernet Sauvignon dominated, with a touch of dark chocolate. Almost a suggestion of white truffle. Lots of liquorice on the finish. Long and more burly and massive. A true vin de garde. Again the alcohol is the only issue here for me." - Colin Hay (09/2025)

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Au Paradis is dense, powerful and packed to the core. There's notable density and concentration, but it's hard to get past some of the awkward contours and overall astringency. I find the oak signature pretty overpowering as well. Hints of blackberry, chocolate and licorice linger. The 2022 is a question mark for now. - Antonio Galloni (01/2025)

Lush, almost sweet, silky and delicious, this elegant and collectible wine shows red and black cherries, mint chocolate and blackcurrants. Cherry creme and spearmint flavors expand on the palate, backed by soft, very fine-grained tannins. Quite indulgent, luxurious and sensuous with a lingering finish. Drink now or hold.

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Au Paradis contains 21% Cabernet Franc and 2% Merlot. It has singular, inviting aromas of blueberry, black cherry, juniper, thyme, violet and dark chocolate. The full-bodied palate is just as expressive, offering power and concentration without sacrificing elegance. Its graphite and floral-laced flavors are structured by luxuriously powdery tannins and bright acidity, and it has a very long, layered finish. A total of 1,642 cases were made, and the wine will be released in September of 2025.
