The 2022 Clos Marsalette is a gorgeous, exotic wine. Blood orange, spice, mint, pomegranate and soaring floral notes lift from the glass. Cabernet Sauvignon signatures are so vivid here, both aromatically and structurally. This is a serious Clos Marsalette with formidable tannins that need time to soften. There's a lot to like, especially for readers who can wait.

Really delicious already with plums and dark berries, as well as crushed stone and some fresh herbs. It's medium-bodied with round tannins. Very drinkable 2022. Drink or hold. (01/2025)

The 2022 Clos Marsalette is juicy and complex, with a vibrant style in its black cherries, darker currant, leafy tobacco, and earthy nuances. These carry to a medium-bodied, elegant, seamless Pessac-Léognan with good acidity and length. I like it today, yet it should have a solid 10- to 15-year drink window. (02/2025)

A blend of 50% Merlot, 49% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2022 Clos Marsalette Rouge is aging in 30% new oak. Deep garnet-purple in color, notes of black cherries, juicy plums, and fresh blackberries notes jump from the glass, followed by hints of dusty soil and charcoal. The light to medium-bodied palate is soft, elegant, and refreshing with a lively backbone and minerally finish. (05/2023)
