Always a well-made Bordeaux, the 2022 Clos Fontaine is deep purple/plum-hued and has a terrific nose of ripe black cherries, blackberries, leafy herbs, licorice, and tobacco. These carry to a medium to full-bodied 2022 offering beautiful richness, a ripe, yet pure style, building tannins, and a great finish. It shows more floral notes with time in the glass and is balanced and clearly an outstanding wine in the making. (10/2023)
