The 2022 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a backward nose - it doesn't quite deliver the tropes one expects from this vineyard and has a hard time following the superb Bâtard-Montrachet. Taciturn at the moment. The palate is well-balanced with a citrus-fresh opening, orange zest and traces of mandarin. Fine balance and complexity belatedly arrive towards the finish. Hopefully, the aromatics will become more vocal by the time this is bottled.
