"Subtle aromatics of red-berry fruit and cedarwood spice lift from the glass, offering an inviting entry. Bold and medium-to full-bodied, the palate is layered with concentrated black cherry, blackberry, and spiced black currants, complemented by toasty vanilla-laced cedarwood and toasted fennel. The finish is lengthy and spice-driven, showcasing depth, structure, and a well-integrated balance of fruit and oak—a powerful yet refined expression. Aged 21 months in 95% new French oak. Grapes were sourced from the western bench of the Rutherford AVA from BV Ranches No. 1 and No. 2, originally planted by Georges de Latour in the early 1900s. The sites are well-draining alluvial soils." (02/2025)

"Delicate and soft despite the sheer intensity, density and mid-palate concentration. Black liquorice, soft sweet spices and oodles of macerated berries, with a little cassis and Kirsch. Pure, refined, rich and glossy – and exceptionally long on the finish." - Colin Hay (09/2025)
