"... sehr schöne, komplexe Frucht, Cassis, auch Kamille, Charme, Mokka, Kokos, feine Blumigkeit, sehr kräftige Tannine, maskulin, aber sehr soft verpackt." (07/2025)

"A little more fruit forward and open than La Muse, this has raspberry and red cherry fruit, excellent lift with burnt orange peel character, a ton of personality and cheerfully supple spiced tannins, great stuff. Pierre Seillan director and winemaker, Jackson Family Wines owners" (07/2025)

"Cocoa powder on the nose, Chinese five spice - aromatic spices for sure - with dark berry fruit and some menthol notes too. Finely grained and streamlined, this has a poised core, direct and svelte, not so much richness or concentration with the Cabernets more delineated and straight but still with layers and depth. I this this has lots of personality and great ripeness without being overpowering. If I had the money I'd buy a case and share the bottles with lots of friends during fun dinner parties. Great stuff with so much energy, I love it. 6% Petit Verdot completes the blend. Owner Jackson Family Wines with director and winemaker Pierre Seillan of Château Lassègue in St-Emilion."

A blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot, the 2022 La Joie is a chiseled, muscular wine. Brooding Cabernet character leads the charge. Intensely structured and drenched in minerality, the 2022 unfurls slowly and confidently, gradually revealing itself with shades of crushed rocks, graphite, espresso, sage, tar and black cherry fruit. Today, La Joie is a very reticent, inward-leaning wine that shows a mere glimpse of what’s to come—a seriously complex offering for the most patient among you.

Broad, mouth-filling, ripe and rich, with dark fruits like blackcurrants and blueberries on velvety tannins. A full body carries generous chocolate and dark spice flavors, showing impressive breadth and a meaty, almost chewy texture. Expands in power on the palate without losing balance, and lingers long in the finish. Made from cabernet sauvignon and lesser portions of cabernet franc, merlot and petit verdot. Drinkable now and best from 2032.

Composed of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot, the 2022 La Joie has a deep garnet-purple color. It springs from the glass with bold notes of black currant preserves, baked plums, and juicy blueberries, followed by suggestions of mint tea, underbrush, and lilacs. The full-bodied palate has a rock-solid structure of grainy tannins and bold freshness to support the generous black fruit layers, finishing long with a minty lift. (12/2025)

The 2022 La Joie is a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot matured for 16 months in 95% new French oak. It bursts from the glass with explosive aromas of cassis, garrigue, violet and ferrous undertones. The full-bodied palate offers the same open-knit, blue-black flavors and compelling iron-like mineral character. It’s framed by velvety tannins and vibrant acidity, and has a very long, perfumed finish. Its new-oak spice is already well integrated, and it should be long lived in the cellar. 1,900 cases were made.
