"Smells beautifully fragranced, overt, clean and clear, freshly picked purple flowers, irises and blue fruits, fresh and perfumed, not ripe so much. Crisp and clean on the palate, a lovely purity and liveliness, sleek and slender although still quite tannic, but more mineral laced - salty and powdery rather than harsh or astringent. Very sapid, a lovely sense of direction and energy, weighty and full in the mouth but also very streamlined. Salty stones on the finish. Nicely constructed, you feel the weight - not plump, but textured, vibrant with direction. Still compact but charming and quietly compelling. Juicy too, so much that you want another glass straight away. 3.60pH. Ageing; 20% new barrels, 70% 30hl casks, 10% amphoras. Harvest 12 September - 5 October. - Georgina Hindle (04/2023)"

"Immediately bright, aerial and highly expressive aromatically. Lots of wild herbal notes and lots of freshness with a vibrant and crunchy mixed of red and darker berry fruits – redcurrant, raspberry and cassis leaf. Lovely graphite and pencil-shavings too, cracked red and black peppercorns and a subtle loamy earthiness. In the mouth this is vivid, energetic and extremely dynamic with lots of forward momentum and pick up leading to a long, intense and slowly tapering finish. Very pure and with lovely precision. Very impressive indeed. - Colin Hay (06/2023)"

"A lovely wine, great depth of flavour, wisps of smoke and grilled coffee bean, avoids the heaviness of the vintage, and provides a distinct personality. 30% whole cluster, Guillaume Pouthier director, Guillaume Deschepper technical director, closed with wax. First year ageing in 55% new oak of differing sizes, then amphoras and cement vats for second year. From the 2023 vintage they plan to add an extra year in cement vats to ensure that the C de Carmes is fully ready to drink on release. (01/2025)"
