"... sehr schöne, spicy Frucht, knackige Beeren, Kaffee, Mokka, kräftige Tannine, etwas Bitterschoko, Malbec-Parfum im Finish." (2023)

Good structure and concentration without being too much, this is an excellent Petit Ducru that is easy to recommend. Cocoa bean and damson, attractive fennel spice, a note I am finding a lot in 2022, reflection of the intensity and small berries, where bitterness replaces acidity in many cases for the balance of the wine. The 2022 Le Petit Ducru is bursting with inky dark red/blue fruit, new leather, spice tobacco, graphite, mocha and espresso. This bold, juicy Saint-Julien offers tons of immediacy, as the Merlot was especially ripe. Le Petit Ducru is quite the extrovert, but it has good structure, too.

Aromas of blueberries, blackcurrants, raspberries and hints of minerals. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and a direct, focused finish. The fruity is in harmony with the tannins. 75% merlot, 20% cabernet sauvignon and 5% petit verdot. Drink after 2027, but already approachable. (01/2025)

Ripe black cherries, spicy wood, flowers, and graphite notes all emerge from the 2022 Le Petit Ducru De Ducru-Beaucaillou, a medium-bodied, silky, elegant, and remarkably pure 2022 that has no hard edges, fine tannins, and a great finish. It brings a touch more finesse and elegance compared to the Madame de Beaucaillou and has a real Saint-Julien character. (02/2025)

A blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2022 Le Petit Ducru is deep garnet-purple in color. It soars out of the glass with notes of black raspberries and juicy blueberries with hints of Sichuan pepper, aniseed, and wild sage. The medium-bodied palate has a real skip in its step, with refreshingly lively black fruits and a lightly chewy texture, finishing with a peppery lift. pH 3.77, TPI 86. (2023)

The 2022 Le Petit Ducru has turned out especially well this year, offering up aromas of cherries and raspberries mingled with tobacco leaf and pencil shavings, followed by a medium to full-bodied, velvety and fleshy palate that's unusually supple and polished.
