The 2022 Christina's Signature Nathan Coombs Estate is a Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend with touches of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Ripe and racy to the core, the 2022 captures the intensity of the year. Spice, cedar, leather and tobacco open with air, adding shades of dimension. A blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot, Paul Hobbs's 2022 Cristina's Signature was developed with international markets in mind. It saw only 40% new French oak and is deliberately made in a "more Bordelaise style, for whatever that means," according to Hobbs. Gently leafy, with hints of pencil shavings framing dark fruit, it's full-bodied, rich and concentrated, with velvety tannins. Somehow, it seems to avoid any of the vintage's characteristic coarseness on the long, lingering finish.
