2022 No. 3 de Château Angelus

The 2022 No.3 d'Angélus is a very pretty, juicy Saint-Émilion. Succulent red cherry, plum, spice, leather and cedar add nuance, but this is a fruity style meant for near and medium-term drinking.

The 2022 N3 De Angélus is one heck of a third wine. Based on 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, raised mostly in tank, it offers a quality, medium to full-bodied, nicely textured profile as well as ample black cherry and raspberry-like fruits, notes of spice and subtle flowers, fine tannins, and outstanding length. The 2022 Nº3 d'Angelus is a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% CF, 5% CS. The pH is 3.6. Deep garnet-purple colored, it comes barreling out of the glass with bold notes of baked black plums, Morello cherries, and boysenberry preserves, giving way to wafts of tar and sautéed herbs. The full-bodied palate is rich and densely laden with expressive black fruits, supported by soft, well-managed tannins and just enough freshness, finishing earthy.  (05/2023)

The 2022 No 3 d'Angélus is attractive, revealing aromas of plums, raspberries and sweet spices, followed by a medium-bodied, rich and sun-kissed palate that's framed by powdery tannins. It's a blend of Merlot with 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
