"Richly textured, pink grapefruit, citrus, salty ocean tang, lingering finish, salty cracker. Feels silky and deeply textured, great quality, white fruits, ripe spiced quince and pear. A hot vintage means you'll find less Sauvignon Blanc thiols on display, in their place a soft and a lingering grip on the finish. 100% fermented and aged in barrels, 30% new oak, along with larger 320- and 600- litre tonneaux and cigar shaped casks. "Ornellaia Bianco is today 100% Sauvignon Blanc, following a period a few years ago where it was blended with other varieties. There's a slightly flinty note to the aromas of lychee, green fruits, papaya and peach. In the mouth there's a delicately creamy background overlaid by very zesty citrus, apricot and lychee. The palate is vertical in shape, with mouthwatering acidity and a rich, textural finish with some leesy depth and woody grip." - James Button (02/2025)
