2022 La Joie

97 Punkte

"... sehr schöne, komplexe Frucht, Cassis, auch Kamille, Charme, Mokka, Kokos, feine Blumigkeit, sehr kräftige Tannine, maskulin, aber sehr soft verpackt." (07/2025)

Jane Anson: 94 Punkte

"A little more fruit forward and open than La Muse, this has raspberry and red cherry fruit, excellent lift with burnt orange peel character, a ton of personality and cheerfully supple spiced tannins, great stuff. Pierre Seillan director and winemaker, Jackson Family Wines owners" (07/2025)

Decanter: 97 Punkte

"Cocoa powder on the nose, Chinese five spice - aromatic spices for sure - with dark berry fruit and some menthol notes too. Finely grained and streamlined, this has a poised core, direct and svelte, not so much richness or concentration with the Cabernets more delineated and straight but still with layers and depth. I this this has lots of personality and great ripeness without being overpowering. If I had the money I'd buy a case and share the bottles with lots of friends during fun dinner parties. Great stuff with so much energy, I love it. 6% Petit Verdot completes the blend. Owner Jackson Family Wines with director and winemaker Pierre Seillan of Château Lassègue in St-Emilion."

2022 La Muse

96-97 Punkte

"... dichte, fleischige, kompakte, aber auch frische Frucht, viel dunkle Fruchtkomponenten, Brombeeren, Kirschen, Kokos, mächtig aber mit großer Balance zugleich, feine Vanille, sehr gut Tannine, feine Bitterschoko im Finish." (07/2025)

Jane Anson: 95 Punkte

"Full intensity plum colour, reserved power on the aromatics, excellent quality, understated, slow-build construction, slate textured-tannins, campfire, turmeric, grilled plum, damson, lift on the finish. Pierre Seillan director and winemaker, Jackson Family Wines owners" (07/2025)

Decanter: 96 Punkte "Black pepper spice, milk chocolate and ripe blackcurrants. Less ripe and heavy on the palate than the nose suggests, more streamlined with detail to the tannins and purity to the fruit. Built heavily on the concentration but it’s not missing any freshness or brightness. I love the mouthwatering succulence on the finish. A big Merlot but with tons of personality, I think this wine will find a lot of fans! Still quite toasted but that will settle. Great cooling mint on the finish. Owner Jackson Family Wines with director and winemaker Pierre Seillan of Château Lassègue in St-Emilion." - Georgina Hindle (07/2025)

2022 Le Désir

96+ Punkte

"... intensive Nase, feine reduktive Note, feine Kräuternote, spicy, Charme und Struktur, mittlerer Körper, kräftige Tannine." (07/2025)

Jane Anson: 96 Punkte

"Medium to full intensity, with the signature curl of violets and peonies of this wine, slate tannins, rise and lift and grip, fragrant gunsmoke, woodsmoke, crushed red roses on the finish. Pierre Seillan director and winemaker, Jackson Family Wines owners" (07/2025)

Decanter: 95 Punkte

"Floral and milk chocolate notes on the nose, blackcurrants and damsons with red cherries too. Fleshy and ripe, I love the tannins on this wine, chewy but with a ripe skin texture - not dry but softly chalky that really extends to a long finish. This is the most delicate, if we can say, of all the three wines with a gentle juiciness and lots of concentration. I like it alot, maybe less forward and upfront than the other two but nonetheless interesting and enjoyable. 5% Malbec completes the blend. Owner Jackson Family Wines with director and winemaker Pierre Seillan of Château Lassègue in St-Emilion." - Georgina Hindle (07/2025)

La Muse: 95+ Punkte

The 2022 La Muse is a blend of 90% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 4% Malbec that matured for 16 months in 95% new French oak. It's shy on the nose to begin, but with time in the glass, it reveals pure, alluring scents of red cherry, pipe tobacco, graphite and coffee beans. The full-bodied palate is mineral-driven at this early stage, though it has a seamless structure of velvety tannins and refreshing acidity and a long finish with latent spicy accents. “The Merlot is very shy in comparison to the Cabernet Sauvignon,” vigneron Pierre Seillan explains. “It doesn’t explode immediately. That is the secret of Merlot. It’s very shy on the entry and with lots of spice on the back.” I retasted the La Muse over several days, and it only improved with air—give it plenty of time in the cellar or several hours in a decanter. 1,800 cases were made. - Erin Brooks (09/2025)

La Joie: 96 Punkte

The 2022 La Joie is a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot matured for 16 months in 95% new French oak. It bursts from the glass with explosive aromas of cassis, garrigue, violet and ferrous undertones. The full-bodied palate offers the same open-knit, blue-black flavors and compelling iron-like mineral character. It’s framed by velvety tannins and vibrant acidity, and has a very long, perfumed finish. Its new-oak spice is already well integrated, and it should be long lived in the cellar. 1,900 cases were made. - Erin Brooks (09/2025)

Le Desir: 97 Punkte

The 2022 Le Désir is a blend of 80% Cabernet Franc, 9% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Malbec that matured for 16 months in 95% new French oak. It demands plenty of time in the glass before revealing pure, complex aromas of red and black cherries, tobacco, garrigue, grilled meats, soy sauce and lilac perfume, plus compelling ferrous undertones. The full-bodied palate features enveloping, detailed flavors. It has a seamless structure of velvety tannins and bright acidity and a long, layered finish. It should be long lived in the cellar. 1,900 cases were made. - Erin Brooks (09/2025)
