From the Bürgstadter Berg's best plot for Pinot Blanc and from vines averaging 35 years old, the 2022 Weisser Burgunder >R< aged on the full lees for 18 months. The wine shows an intense and fleshy nose with ripe fruit and sur lie aromas and is more open-hearted than the corresponding Chardonnay. Round and lush on the palate yet with the savory grip of the sandstone terroir, this firmly structured Pinot develops a dense and intense texture with fine tannins, good grip and a long, aromatic finish. Still young but very promising, this is a wine to have with food in two or three years. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2024, just a few days after bottling.
