Rich, ripe blackberries, dark cherries, mussel shells, cocoa powder and a chalky edge. Full-bodied and very flavorful, with nicely chewy tannins, lush berry fruit and a dense finish. Big but still fresh and juicy. A blend of 50% merlot and 50% bouchet (cabernet franc). Best after 2028.

Rocking black raspberries, spicy dark cherries, chocolate, graphite, and hints of spicy oak all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a deep, layered, elegant, yet concentrated style that shines in the vintage. Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 Aromes de Pavie charges out of the glass with notes of redcurrant jelly, blackberry pie, and plum preserves giving way to hints of mint tea, bay leaves, and black olives. The medium to full-bodied palate had a solid backbone of firm fine-grained tannins and bold freshness to support the dense vibrant fruit, finishing long and with fantastic purity. The blend is 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Merlot, with pH 3.63. (05/2024)
