"The core Cabernet Sauvignon blocks are drawn from parcels in front of the house (the House Block), a west-facing hillside site, and a later-ripening parcel to the right of the driveway beyond the gate, which contributes natural acidity, focus and length. These components are blended with a barrel selection of estate Cabernet Franc, accounting for roughly 30% of the vineyard. The wine is aged for 23 months in 75% new French oak, with 8% matured in amphora, and fermented in the newly completed winery with extensive use of concrete vessels. The result is a wine marked by striking freshness and a distinct gravelly mineral character, with sagebrush and mint lending aromatic lift. On the palate, that gravelly minerality builds into a foundation of rich, chewy, granular textures that promise to knit together harmoniously over time in the cellar. Yet even in youth, the wine is immensely rewarding: ripe, juicy fruit shines clearly without being overshadowed by structure, while the freshness factor remains remarkably high, driving energy and persistence through the finish." - Jonathan Cristaldi (03/2026)
