The 2023 Clos Beauregard has a slightly candied, confit-like bouquet that requires a little more precision. The palate is slightly baked and a bit chewy, with dry tannins. It needs more elegance. There’s fine weight here, but I'd like to see more complexity.

Outstanding, with a glossy feel from the polished dark berries, black plums, violets, graphite and dark chocolate. Deep, opulent but also restrained, with medium to full body and structured, fine-grained tannins. Long and vertical at the end but also quite floral. One of the best we have tasted. Good potential over the next decade. Drink from 2026.

The 2023 Château Clos Beauregard has a darker, smoky edge as well as earthy tobacco, graphite, and floral nuances. These all carry to a medium to full-bodied, concentrated Pomerol revealing ripe, firm tannins, good mid-palate depth, and plenty of length on the finish. This is never the most elegant Pomerol, but it has good mid-palate depth and density and outstanding potential. (05/2024)
