The 2023 Monbousquet is packed with blue/purplish fruit, spice, lavender, mocha and gravel notes. The 2023 is an especially serious Monbousquet with bright acids and vibrant tannins that lend notable energy throughout. This is another fine showing from the Perse family.

Spicy and toasty oak, blackberries, roasted spices, dark chocolate and ripe dark cherries on the nose. Lush and almost full-bodied, with compact, chewy tannins and a flavorful palate. Slightly less bold in the past with a bright fruit underneath. 60% merlot, 30% cabernet franc and 10% cabernet sauvignon. Try from 2028. (12/2025)

The 2023 Château Monbousquet is another deep, rich, voluptuous wine from this team. Rocking levels of ripe red and black fruits, smoked tobacco, chocolate, and subtle spicy notes all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a round, supple, layered mouthfeel and a great finish. Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 Monbousquet shoots from the glass with vibrant scents of fresh blackcurrants and Bing cherries plus hints of pencil lead, underbrush, and wild sage. The medium-bodied palate delivers lightly chewy tannins and just enough freshness to support the delicate black fruit layers, finishing long and savory. The blend is 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. (05/2024)
