Technical Sheet

Jane Anson: 94 Punkte

"The classic Cab from Inglenook is always worth looking out for, and here it delivers sleek, intense bitter black chocolate, cassis fruit, eucalyptus, black tea, red liquorice, wet stones and espresso. Todd Devincenzi director, Philippe Bascaules winemaking director. 95ha estate." (07/2026)

Decanter: 94 Punkte

"Inglenook’s Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon serves as a companion to the estate’s flagship Rubicon, following the Bordeaux tradition in which lots not selected for the grand vin are directed here. The wine is aged in 50% new French oak. In 2023, it delivers impressive mid-palate density, with a concentrated core of dark berry fruit–mulberry and macerated cherry–layered with dried violets, crème de cassis, and espresso bean nuances. Full, rich and structured, the tannins are chewy and chocolate-toned, carrying through to a finish defined by graphite minerality and elegant cedarwood character." - Jonathan Cristaldi (03/2026)

91 POINTS

The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon turned out beautifully. Aromatic, pliant and medium in body, the 2023 shows all the natural restraint of this cool, late-ripening year. Crushed flowers, bright red-toned fruit, blood orange, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco are some of the notes that grace this nuanced, inviting Cabernet Sauvignon from Inglenook.

95 POINTS

An elegant, well-balanced and fresh-tasting estate wine with great flavors, good acidity and silky tannins. Classic black cherry, black olive and savory bay leaf and earth aromas on a medium to full body. The tannins are moderate, smooth and fine-grained. Easy to drink now, but will surely age well. Best after 2030.

95 POINTS
The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon is composed of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it skips out of the glass with bright, cheery notes of kirsch, red currant jelly, and fresh black currants, giving way to nuances of mint tea, lavender, and pencil shavings. Full-bodied, the palate is light on its feet and refreshing, delivering fine-grained tannins and red and black fruit layers, finishing long and minerally. (06/2026)

93 POINTS

Dense and winey, with notes of red and black currant preserves compressed with a bitter plum accent, while savory, cedar, singed apple wood and iron notes emerge steadily through the well-structured, dust-tinged finish. Solidly built. Best from 2028 through 2040.

94-96 POINTS

Still in barrel in February 2025, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts dark notes of cedar mulch, earth, black olives and black cherries. It's medium- to full-bodied, velvety and intensely flavored, with a long, earthy and savory finish. It shows excellent balance, along with unusually refined tannins for the Cabernet Sauvignon, which can sometimes be a bit coarse when compared to the Rubicon.
