2023 Johann's Garden

This more delicate 2023 vintage of Johann's Garden comes from a cool year. It is not without charm, as it offers up pretty aromas of cranberry, red cherry and red licorice with a dusting of exotic spices. Nicely textured with a gentle grip and fleshy flavors, it is harmonious and well-balanced before settling into a supple and spicy finish. - Angus Hughson (07/2024)

The 2023 Johann's Garden hails from a cool, wet vintage, and the wine is elegant and cool both aromatically and in the mouth. I love how many of the red wines express from South Australia in this vintage. It was surely challenging, but in the end, good viticulture will always win, as it did here.
