This beautiful merlot-based wine offers depth, silkiness, layering and subtle, enticing flavors. It tightens up snugly on the palate while fine, powdery tannins add texture and good acidity gives balance. An age-worthy red and a great example of an excellent vintage. 2023 La Joie: 100 Punkte 

Gorgeous, structured, balanced and layered, this is a complex, deep and elegant wine that offers wonderful fruit, detailed spices, toast, minerals and savory accents. Black-cherry, blueberry, graphite and tobacco-leaf aromas and flavors. It’s difficult to think of a more complete, harmonious and fascinating cabernet sauvignon from California. Le Désir: 100 Punkte 

So pretty, layered, elegant and sophisticated, showing distinctive, delicious dark fruit with spices and savory notes. Aromas and flavors move from rose petals, violets, red and black cherries, blackcurrants and orange peel to herbs and nutmeg. 2023 La Muse: 98 Punkte 

The 2023 La Muse is a blend of 89% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Malbec. Deep garnet-purple colored, it charges out of the gate with bold notes of juicy plums, blackberry preserves, and black cherry compote, giving way to suggestions of dried mint, star anise, black olives, and garrigue. The full-bodied palate is energetic and plush with velvety tannins and a refreshing backbone, finishing long and spicy. (09/2026) 

2023 La Joie: 98 Punkte 

Composed of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2023 La Joie comes barreling out with powerful notes of plum preserves, crème de cassis, and molten licorice, leading to hints of bay leaves, graphite, and sandalwood with a waft of violets. Full-bodied, the palate has a rock-solid structure of firm, grainy tannins and fantastic tension supporting the concentrated black fruit layers, finishing long and savory. (09/2026) 

2023 Le Désir: 99 Punkte 

The 2023 Le Désir is made from 85% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, and 5% Malbec. Deep garnet-purple colored, it prances out with showy notes of red currants, juicy blackberries, and boysenberries, opening out to reveal a fragrant undercurrent of iris, wet slate, wild sage, and forest floor. Full-bodied, the palate is electric with tension and vibrancy, framed by firm, grainy tannins, finishing long and perfumed. Gorgeous! (09/2026)
