"Intense and juicy, rich plum colour, huge amounts of crayon, graphite, hoisin plum, ink. Really takes things up a level in terms of 2nd wines, and I find it hard to name this as a 2024. 26hl/h yield, September 27 to October 9, 25hl/h yield. 3.55 pH. 50% new oak. Dedicated plots for Arômes since 2017." (04/2025)

"Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung.

"Lifted, delicate in its way but with a disguised richness and puissance. Creamy. Cedar, graphite and pencil shavings, damsons and blueberries – from all of that glorious Cabernet Franc. There’s a gentle dark petally florality too. And black forest gateau – very much a Pavie note. I find this supple and soft and elegant on the attack, again with dark cherry and berry fruits, and with a little dark chocolate enrobing the deep, dense spherical core. And it’s long and rippling on the finish, as the chalky tannins engage. An impressive wine, very close in quality to where the grand vin used to be!" - Colin Hay (04/2025)

"Bright, a touch of sherbet, orange rind, milk chocolate, raspberry and cranberry. Super fresh and vibrant. Clean and chiselled this is well built with freshness and crispness. It starts off well but builds to a chalky mid palate that stops and tightens and tapers a little. Really fresh, cool mint, clove, liquorice. A touch tense on the finish, but there’s detail and such precision. You can feel the Cabernet Franc playing its part. Well built for sure, less approachable than some, but it has a good outline. A serious second wine. Ageing 50% new oak, 50% one-year-old barrels. A yield of 22.24hl/ha. 3.55pH." - Georgina Hindle (04/2025)

The 2024 Arômes de Pavie is an equal blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc this year, cropped at 22.24 hl/ha and matured in 50% new oak. I actually prefer the aromatics here over the Clos Lunelles and Monbousquet, more pure without the distracting chocolatey aroma. The palate is grippy on the entry and quite structured for a Deuxième Vin, with nice sapidity and a slightly chalky finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle. - Neal Martin (04/2025)

This has a pretty density with blueberries, black cherries and orange peel. Medium body, creamy tannins and a fresh, vivid finish. Lovely texture. Second wine of Pavie, made from particular parcels. 50% merlot and 50% cabernet franc. (05/2025)

Equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the 2024 Aromes De Pavie comes all from the upper plateau of pure limestone soils. Black raspberries, graphite, crushed stone, and floral notes all shine here, and it's medium-bodied, has a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and outstanding length. It even picks up a hint of truffles with time in the glass, and it's a beautiful Saint-Émilion in the making. (05/2025)

Deep garnet-purple colored. Scoots out with ready-to-go notes of black raspberries, fresh red and black plums, and red roses, plus hints of garrigue and graphite. The medium-bodied palate is soft, silky, and refreshing with vivacious red berry flavors and a lifted finish. (05/2025)
