The 2024 Chardonnay Las Pizarras from Quillota in Aconcagua Costa spent six months on its lees and 12 months in oak barrels. Fine and delicate, it opens with subtle floral notes, a hint of herbs, ginger, crisp apple and a trace of jasmine. On the palate, it is vibrant and dry, with marked acidity, a saline edge and a soft, talc-like texture. Layered and nuanced, it strikes a well-judged balance between oak, tension and a faintly creamy texture. This vintage suggests that Las Pizarras is finding a stylistic path where fruit and tension express the cool climate while measured aging delivers greater harmony.
