"Was für ein frisches und charmantes Bouquet! Er scheint mehrere Rollen zu spielen, indem er den Cabernet Sauvignon, der zu 77 % vertreten ist, unterstützt und gleichzeitig eine entfaltete Seite sowie Noten der Reifung (Toast und gemahlener Kaffee) zeigt. Im Laufe der Minuten gewinnt die Frucht deutlich die Oberhand über die Reifung … ein weiterer guter Grund, sich Zeit für die Verkostung zu nehmen. Da die Herstellung schon lange dauert, kann man sich auch Zeit für die Verkostung nehmen! Der Wein hat eine gute Dichte und wird von lieblichen, kräftigen Tanninen gestützt, während die Säure Struktur und Frische bildet. Ein mundender und sehr authentischer Wein! Ein Brane-Cantenac, der tröstet, wie man ihn liebt und kennt. Ein zeitgenössischer Klassiker mit weniger Alkohol als üblich, aber nicht weniger Würze und Genuss!" (04/2025)

"Tons of energy, stone fruits, cherry pits, damson, a lovely feeling of fruit that has plenty of life ahead it, fresh and juicy with sapidity. not trying too hard just full of pleasure. Edge of grilled campfire, graphite, generosity, easily one of the wines of the vintage. 11.3% press wine, 3.53pH, 46.6hl/ha yield. Harvest 17 September to 8 October, 80% new oak for ageing." "Ripe and concentrated aromas, you can feel the blackcurrant and cherry fruit, dark and full of aromatic intensity. Really welcoming. Bright and lively in the mouth, an instant hit of sweet, juiciness with high acidity giving immediate lift. It’s not plush, more sleek and svelte. More linear than recent vintages of course but lifted with careful extraction and lovely definition. A happy wine. Really makes you smile and one you want to finish. More overt acidity than some - racy - but I love the intense freshness and precision on offer and this grows in stature with time in the glass. 40% grand vin production. Ageing 80% new oak instead of 100%, probably 18 months in barrel. Tasted twice. 11.3% press. 3.53pH." - Georgina Hindle (04/2025)

"Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zart nach Vanille, Cassis, rote Herzkirschen, ein Hauch von Orangenblüten. Saftig, rote Beerenfrucht, zart nach Ribisel, reife Tannine, dunkle Mineralität im Abgang, bleibt haften, feine Holzwürze im Finish, ein finessenreicher Speisenbegleiter." "Expressiv, duftig, Waldbeeren, getrocknete Kräuter, Sauerkirschen, fast schon Pinot-artig im Ausdruck; seidenweich am Gaumen, samtiges Tannin, lebhafte Säure, knackige Frucht, leichtfüssig, ausbalanciert, langer Abgang, zitrische Rückaromen. Ein delikater Brane, der deutlich weniger konzentriert daherkommt, als in den grossen Jahren; hier wurde voll und ganz auf Eleganz gesetzt."

"The 100th anniversary of the Lurton family’s acquisition of the property. Black cherries, plump blueberries, cassis, black berry, bramble, walnut oil and cedar, cedar, cedar (actually, it’s a little more subtle than that implies). Peonies and irises too. This is slow to open but gorgeously enticing as it does so (it’s actually a little less closed when re-tasted at the property). Plump, plush, lithe and extremely refined. Soft and succulent, that gentle Rpulse extraction allowing this to attain a density very rare in the vintage. The acidity is just a little raised, but this is a very fine achievement, with the wine even achieving a certain opulence. It doesn’t have quite the mid-palate delineation and sparkle of the 2020 or 2022 but it is excellent when set it any comparative context. Remarkably (and unmistakably) Brane!" - Colin Hay (04/2025)
