„…fruchtige, blumige, leicht offene Nase, etwas einfach aber gut in der Struktur, Mitte OK, saftig, dezent bitter“ (04/2025)

Evident grilled cedar and campfire smoke on the nose, high spice, dark berry fruits, orange peel and earth. You can see certainly imagine that this is a far better wine that would have been made under the former regime, but it is still a far more rustic St Estèphe than the rest of the portfolio. Harvest 23 September to 8 October. 3.63 pH. 20% new oak. Second year of organic conversion, and second vintage under the new Cos d'Estournel team, headed up by Angélique Vigouroux. (04/2025)

The 2024 Cos Labory is a powerful, burly wine. Dark-toned fruit, gravel, licorice, incense and chocolate are all dialed up. Strong saline accents extend the brooding finish. Ample, deep and quite imposing, Cos Labory offers plenty of impact. There is still some rusticity here that needs to be addressed, but Cos Labory is moving in the right direction. Tasted two times.

A powerful, muscular St.-Estephe for the year with lots of fresh blackberries and black cherries. Full-bodied and tight-grained, with abundant tannins and a compact, medium-long finish. Slightly chewy at the end. 62% cabernet sauvignon, 26% merlot, 10% petit verdot and 2% cabernet franc.

Loads of ripe black cherries, graphite, smoked herbs, and some earthy notes all emerge from the 2024 Château Cos Labory, another richly textured, concentrated, structured wine that I suspect will need some time. The blend is 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, and the rest Cabernet Franc. (05/2025)

Deep garnet-purple in color. It is a little broody and subdued to start off with subtle notes of charcoal and wild thyme leading to a core of red currant jelly and juicy raspberries with touches of lavender and black pepper. The light-bodied palate is fresh and light on its feet with lightly chewy tannins and a savory finish. (05/2025)

Notes of cassis, plums and pencil shavings introduce the 2024 Cos Labory, a medium-bodied, supple and suave wine with a polished profile and a discreetly minty finish.
