Jane Anson: 94 Punkte

"Excellent quality from the off, this is gripping and fragrant, again slimmer than in recent years but again capturing and harnessing the potential finesse of the vintage, peony, iris, cassis bud, crushed rose petals. The fruit a little less evident that the flowers, this is more about texture and minerality. Winery at La Clotte now totally finished, vineyard is almost 50% replanted, just under 3ha in production, with another three years before the whole project with reception facilties are totally ready to go. 100% new oak. Harvest 1 to 5 October. Philippe Baillarguet cellar master." (04/2025)

Falstaff: 92 Punkte

"Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. Frische Kirschen, kandierte Orangenzesten, feines Brombeerkonfit, floraler Touch. Saftig, zarte Fruchtsüße, rotes Beerenkonfit, elegant, frisch, mineralisch, Limetten im Nachhall, unkomplizierter Speisenbegleiter." - Peter Moser (04/2025)

Vinum: 91 Punkte

The Drinks Business: 91-93 Punkte

"A little more closed aromatically that Moulin St Georges (tasted just before). Walnut oil. Kalamata olives and tapenade. Damsons and plums, a little bramble and black berry. Redcurrant and cranberry. Moderate concentration and a lovely shape in the mouth. A certain creaminess but less than in the sunnier of the more recent vintages. Chewy on the finish. Very fine, but not at the level of the 2020 or 2022." - Colin Hay (04/2025)

Decanter: 92 Punkte

"Lovely floral and herbal nose - raspberry yoghurt, blackcurrant leaf, perfume, tobacco and liquorice. Super fragranced. Chewy and bright, but clean, this has some density but is presented with really quite mineral edges - wet stones, chalk, graphite and pencil lead come out almost straight away also with some bitter orange rind and dark chocolate touches. The flavours are lovely and there is purity here, it’s missing a little bit more density, but the vibrancy is there in spades. Crystalline finish. Not bad at all. Has a lovely outline and lingering flavour. 10% press wine. A yield of 22hl/ha. South exposure. Ageing 100% new oak. 3.5pH" - Georgina Hindle (04/2025)

The 2024 La Clotte is a heady, engaging wine. Aromatic, deep and wonderfully dynamic, La Clotte shows the pedigree of this south-facing site. Rose petal, crushed flowers, mint, spice, cedar and tobacco all soar from the glass. Blood orange, red-toned fruit and white pepper open later. The 2024 is distinguished by its complexity and myriad shades of nuance. It is an especially fine 2024. Sadly, yields are just 22 hectoliters per hectare. As always, La Clotte speaks with eloquence.

Good depth with fine oak spices, citrus and berries. Vibrant and medium-bodied but compact and even, with silky but vivid tannins, juicy berry fruit and a lengthy finish. Good chalky tannins offer fine grip. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc.

From a tiny parcel on the upper plateau (with a touch of hillside) not far from Pavie Macquin, the 2024 Château La Clotte has brilliant notes of ripe black raspberries, spring flowers, chalky minerality, and subtle hints of white truffle. It's wonderfully pure and medium-bodied, with a focused, layered mouthfeel and gorgeous tannins. The blend is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, and the wine is resting in 100% new oak. (05/2025)

Deep garnet-purple colored. Starts off a little closed, soon unfurling to offer up scents of cedar chest, fresh mulberries, and blackberries, plus hints of black tea and Sichuan pepper with a waft of wild sage. The medium-bodied palate is tightly wound with vibrant red berry and mineral layers, framed by ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and perfumed. Nice! (05/2025)

Offering up aromas of blackberries, minty raspberries and sweet toasty oak, the 2024 La Clotte is medium to full-bodied, dense and vibrant, with tangy acids, chalky tannins and a penetrating finish.
