„…üppige Fruchtsaftig, likörige Bitterschoko, etwas Campari im Finish“ (04/2025)

Intense peony and iris notes on the aromatics, no need to wait too long but there is Pomerol character here, cocoa bean, espresso, they are using oak but they are using it well. 16hl/h yield. (04/2025)

The 2024 Le Gay is powerful, ample and quite seductive. Floral and spice notes meld into a core of dark red-toned fruit, new leather, mocha and pressed rose petal. Le Gay is vinified entirely in barrique, an approach that adds considerable textural resonance, which this vintage needed. Le Gay is a decidedly potent, dense Pomerol. It is very fine in 2024. Only about 50% of the wine from the property was bottled as Le Gay. Tasted two times.

Mineral and perfumed, showing violets and dark cherries. This has fine, chalky tannins aplenty, medium to full body and a long, scented finish. It may improve with time in barrel but already impressive for the vintage.

Ripe red and black fruits, spicy oak, gravelly earth, and some subtle floral notes all shine in the 2024 Château Le Gay, a richer, medium to full-bodied Pomerol that unquestionably shines in the vintage. Based on 81% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Franc and aged 14 months in 100% new French oak, it shows plenty of mid-palate depth, ripe, polished, yet building tannins, and more opulence and breadth than most. It shows why Pomerol did so well in the vintage. (05/2025)

Deep garnet-purple colored. Notes of fresh blackberries and stewed red cherries leap from the glass, followed by hints of wild sage and damp soil. The light to medium-bodied palate has a sturdy frame of grainy tannins and bold freshness supporting the delicate black and red berry flavors, finishing earthy. (05/2025)
